Tom Rizzuto is a musician, writer, and educator born, raised, and located in New York.
A graduate of Molloy College (B.A, Music Education) and CUNY The City College of New York (M.A, Musicology), Tom currently teaches Music History, World Music, American Music, and The History of Rock & Roll at Molloy College. He also teaches Guitar for the Nassau College Department of Continuing Education. Tom has given lectures on a wide range of topics, including "The Music of J.S. Bach" and "Music in the 20th Century" for conventions, community organizations, and on television. Most recently, he was invited by the Rochester Institute of Technology to deliver a TED talk, "Understanding the Music That Divides Us," for their TEDxRIT event.
Tom's writing has appeared in History Magazine, Discovery Magazine, and on The-Wagnerian.com. He is also a frequent contributor to Crazytownblog.com, a New York arts and culture collective.
Tom has been featured as a guest on numerous podcasts including The Rock and Roll Archaeology Podcast, Darksiders Podcast, and Don't Mind if I Don't. He writes, produces, and hosts The Music That Made Our World, a podcast about interesting and often shocking stories from the history of Classical Music, premiering in the Summer of 2017.
